No Feet Beetlejuice Earrings
One of the things we love most is supporting local artists.
And I have to say when I saw these No Feet earrings inspired by the 1988 Tim Burton classic film, Beetlejuice, it was enough to make me want to sprint to the nearest piercing shop. This is because, sadly, I let my earring holes close up years ago. Gah!
These spooky-fun earrings were created by Manitou Springs artist, Mattie Fabris, who has an entire collection of curious art on display at Persephone Grae’s Cafe & Juice Bar right in the middle of the historic district.
In case you’ve never heard of Manitou Springs, it’s a darling mountain town with a whole bunch of awesomeness crammed into a relatively small business district right on the western edge of Old Colorado City and greater Colorado Springs.
The bubbly mineral springs here have long been used for their wellness properties, transforming the area into a healing destination in the 1880s.
It’s been called “Saratoga of the West” and “Hippie Mayberry” thanks to its prevalence of both autocourt motels and (yep) hippies. I don’t know if I’d really define it that way, but then I’m not a big fan of conventional labels.
We especially adored Mattie’s whimsical cat drawings and sunny cactus prints.
