CONCEAL YOUR IDENTITY THIS HALLOWEEN WITH PAPER MACHE MASKS

Paper mache is a technique using paper combined with glue, flour, or a paste to create a malleable pulpy paper mixture that dries into a rigid sculptural material. Often strips of newspaper or other paper scraps are dipped in the adhesive mix and then layered over a form, such as a balloon or a wire form, to create pretty much anything you want. Popular applications of paper mache include making bowls, cups, animal figures of all varieties, and, of course, masks.

Originating from China during the Hans Dynasty (BC 202 - AD 220), one of the earliest uses of paper mache (and paper itself) was for making masks for ceremonies and festivals.

Today paper mache masks are widely used by cultures around the world, such as in commemorations of deceased family members for Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dea) or during the Carnevale di Venezia in Italy, to name just a few.
