When we first saw these we did a serious double-take. Snapdragon Skulls… from the flower? Are these for real?

Sure enough, snapdragons, the popular spring and fall annual flowers known for their bright poppy colors evolve into creepy miniature skulls at the end of their life cycle. The haunting little faces are the result of the seed pod portion of the plant which self-seeds and then wilts into a spooky expression.

Oddities artist Misty Martin, aka Misty Morel on Etsy, has immortalized these dark beauties into a lovely miniature display using dyed moss and a small glass container. These spooky oddities are truly mini, each measuring about 2.3 inches tall and 1.2 inches wide, and are just one of several unique items in her curio collection available for sale.
