We absolutely adore unique vacation rentals, and we know we’re not alone. Platforms like Airbnb are now making it easier for users to find unusual overnight stays by categorizing them into cool easy-to-search categories such as treehouses, domes, lighthouses, and other non-traditional vacation rentals. And several networks and streaming services now feature entire series based on building or staying in amazing places both off the grid and in urban settings.
We’ve come across some especially unique vacation rentals from all across the world that you might. be interested in when planning your next getaway. Most of those featured here prioritize a connection with nature and are located in somewhat remote areas.
Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort
— Lapland, Finland —
This wilderness resort located in the arctic circle draws visitors from around the world for its curious dwellings and its ideal setting to see the Northern Lights.

Big Idaho Potato Hotel

This 6-ton steel, plaster and concrete potato once used by the Idaho Potato Commission for their Big Idaho Potato Truck Tour has been converted into a tiny home rental.
Tater trivia:
The giant spud weighs in at 4 tons.
If it was a real potato, it would make 20,217 servings of mashed potatoes or more than 1 million French fries.
