First, yikes. This screaming mummy head is truly a great example of something that we were actually relieved to learn is a replica and not an original mummy head.

This historical recreation is artfully composed by Etsy seller, Bending3D, makers of a whole range of curious oddities, many involving animals, bones, and jars of specimen-esque aesthetics. You know, for the kids.

The screaming mummy is a full-size head and comes with a whole backstory, some of which is included on the certificate built into the base.

Turns out, his moniker is “Unknown Man E”, and he died somewhere between 1189 and 1077 BC after a lonesome agonizing demise. Ultimately, his tomb was raided, and all that remained was his head!

That’s the super short version of the story because anyone would be remiss to not go right now and check out the rest.

Serious kudos to Unknown Man E’s creators for such a curiously disturbing companion tale and for making something that will probably give us nightmares for a month.
