We are in awe of the deathcasting work by Stockton Skulls, a Texas-based maker of replica animal skulls and what I guess we would call memorial pet art, although these are our words not theirs.

First of all, we’d never even heard of deathcasting, which sounds like both an artful and tedious process.

The sphynx cat deathcast pictured above was created from a real sphynx cat who passed away. Molded in silicone, these pieces are impeccably detailed and are great references to sculpt, draw, or paint from, and of course they would be fantastic for your oddities collection.

Stockton Skulls has an impressive variety of deathcast animals to choose from. To name just a few, there’s a Guinea Pig, Black Roughneck Monitor Lizard, a Gorilla hand and dozens of fascinating replica castings.
