Styrofoam heads have long been utilized in the fashion and retail industries to display hats, wigs, jewelry, and anything that could be worn on a human head. They’re basically a more disposable and less expensive version of traditional mannequin heads, some of which have hair and can be used for cosmetology students practicing for their future professions.

Recently, we came across some curious creations by artists from around the world using styrofoam heads as a different type of canvas. Starting with blank styrofoam heads, artists transform them into sculptural conversation pieces for your home, business, oddities, or art collection.

This article was inspired by the unique work of Mason Art Gallery, pictured in the Fortune Teller styrofoam mannequin head art pictured above as well as the Rainbow Skull head in the gallery below. Be sure to check out their full collection of unique styrofoam heads as well as the collections of the other artists featured here.
