Garden of 1000 Buddhas

November 1, 2021

The Garden of 1000 Buddhas is a curiously-configured outdoor space featuring, you guessed it, one thousand buddha statues. There are an additional 1000 stupas lining the outer perimeter of the garden’s 8-spoke Dharma wheel design, but perhaps that was all too wordy for a namesake.

Visiting the garden is meant to evoke a sense of positivity and peace, an intentional counterbalance to the negativity in our world today. Yes, please!

Located about 30 miles north of Missoula in the small town of Arlee, Montana, the setting is remote and serene with plenty of space for visitors to meditate or enjoy the genuine tranquility of the surroundings. And if you’re not familiar with Buddhist histories or its core beliefs, there are several instructional markers on site.

You can also download this really cool Visitor’s Guide, featuring a map that outlines the meanings represented throughout the park.

We love storytelling in all its amazing formats. As a photographer and online publisher, Adobe is a critical tool for running my business. Their creative cloud membership incorporating Lightroom and Photoshop speeds up my workflow and helps me make my images look their best. If you’re new to Adobe and the Creative Cloud membership, they have several plans to fit your creative needs, but the $9.99/mo photography plan allows you to access Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, and Photoshop from anywhere your photography takes you.
