ASSASSINS CABINET
Charred Macabre has created a fascinating replica of the 16th-century Assassins Cabinet. This hollowed-out book hides your most secret things and is based on an actual type of traveling apothecary cabinet known as a “poison cabinet” or ''assassin’s cabinet.”
A real Assassin’s Cabinet surfaced and was placed for auction in 2008. Similar to Macabre’s unique design, it contained several hidden drawers with ornate labels for various plants that have both poisonous and medicinal qualities. Many believed the book wasn’t authentic, yet it was confirmed to be bound around the year 1600.
That book was sold for $7,000 USD, making this amazing replica a wonderfully less expensive interpretation of the concept, and the only one we could find.
