And while giving for the sake of kindness alone is the main focus, the whole gift-giving process often results in an unavoidable exchange of sorts. People feel compelled to reciprocate. We just can’t help it, and that’s ok! It’s ok to want things and to give ourselves some much-needed self-care, especially after this last year and all its uncertainty.
